In mid-1962, Playboy founder Hugh Hefner was given a partial transcript of an interview with Miles Davis. John and Yoko....said it like it is.

Interesting, the media again tried to manipulate John Lennon into what they wanted him to be instead of accepting him for who he was. He may have been a Beatle, that is what he did for a time in his life. It was not who he was. The Beatles were manipulated by their handlers just as the "Boy Bands" were in later years. John and Yoko have no problem speaking out as they should. Not to defend their lives but to say this is who we are and how we chose to live our lives. We are entitled to be ourselves, not your imagined persona.

John & Yoko - 50 Years of The Playboy Interview Series. Classic Interview.

David Sheff's interview is one of the last before his death - conducted just a few days before John was killed. As I mature, this interview reveals to me more insights about adulthood, The Beatles and John & Yoko's marriage. Although the dynamic between the two of them was complex (this applies to most marriages, I think) Re-reading this in my 40's, Sheff's discussion with john and Yoko reveals more than ever.
Having it on my kindle to re-read anytime is the real attraction here. The 50 years of the Playboy interview series is great! The price is right to discover and re-discover some of the best interviews conducted in the 20th century.
Although I own this in hardcover and paperback versions, (All We Are Saying) I love having this with me wherever I am, since I take my kindle with me more than 60% of the time.
