A little slow...

I've been reading this author for years. Her early books could put you on the edge of your seat. Not so much over the last ten years or so. But, I happen to like her LilyDale series. Mainly because I find an entire town of mediums fascinating. It took me picking it up and putting it down over several days to read it. Normally, I finish a book in a day. There was a certain 'crispness' lacking about this story. It seemed to meander down the river. And about a third of the way into the book; I figured out the big secret. Still, I don't feel I wasted my time. Reading is never a waste of time to me.

The plot of the story is a great whodunit, and never failed to keep me guessing

I live in Lily Dale, so I can visualize the places the author talks about. I know that some of the street names have been changed, but I can guess where she means. The plot of the story is a great whodunit, and never failed to keep me guessing. There is some romance in it, too, which is nice.

Experience Lily Dale

I loved the original Lily Dale series, and this stand alone was just as good as the others. Having visited Lily Dale just a few weeks ago, I re-read all 5 books, and enjoyed them even more than the first time. The description of the Lily Dale Assembly village is 100% accurate, from the US Flag flying on every home along the drive up to the Assembly Gate, to the incredibly quaint, wild and crazy gardens of each cottage. Story lines are totally believable, each character could be any friend or neighbor.
If you love and adore the Lily Dale series, definitely plan a trip to New York - visit the Awesome Niagara Falls, then drive 50 miles west along Lake Erie to the front gate and Experience for yourself the Lily Dale Assembly. It will be one of those "Vacation's of a Lifetime " - even for the seasoned traveler.
**Don't forget to bring your U.S.Passport so you can cross the bridge into Canada to see the magnificent Horseshoe Falls.**
